VOLUNTEERS |
What Do Volunteers At St. Columba Do? St Columba is a place where all people are made welcome and put at ease. Our staff and volunteers are able to work with people from a variety of backgrounds who are facing a variety of challenges in their lives. Day Center – Volunteers monitor the room where clients come and go. They distribute sandwiches, coffee cups and other food, maintain the shower list and hand out towels, soap and other toiletries. They answer questions, converse with and listen to the clients. Volunteers are needed in this position during the hours that the Day Center is open: Monday through Thursday 9:00 AM to at least noon. Off site opportunities - If you or your group are interested in activities that can support our work, please visit our Group Help page to learn more about this opportunity. If you are looking for a way to help those in need, we are looking for you! Just a few hours a week can make a difference. Our volunteers will be provided with the information they need to perform the duties required through a brief training and orientation session. Please, call Alicia at 627-6748 if you are interested. |
Due to the pandemic, we have temporarily paused on site volunteer opportunities. If you are interested in future opportunities or in signing up to be a Back-Up Day Center Volunteer (called on in advance when a regular volunteer has to be out), please call Alicia at 627-6748 for more information. |
